Skills Trainer
ANDREW EVANS
Andrew is a former collegiate player at Corban University. Andrew learned first hand about basketball training under his mentor Drew Hanlen, a legendary pro trainer who works with high school athletes to NBA standouts like Jayson Tatum, Bradley Beal , Mo Bamba, and Joel Embiid. Andrew is also a high school basketball coach. Andrew's energy and passion for the game translate to infectious enthusiasm with our youth athletes.

SAMMY NALUAI
Sammy is a former collegiate player at George Fox University. She has 8+ years of experience working with youth through athletics, academics, and other mentorship opportunities. Sammy was the D3 national statistics champion in free throws in 2016 and holds the record at GFU. She played in the National Championship in 2015. She has been with the Youth Stars/Future program for the last three seasons.

KATIE McWILLIAMS
Katie is a former collegiate player at Oregon State University and professional player in Germany. A standout player with multiple honors including PAC 12 defensive and All PAC 12 honorable mention. She ended her career fifth in Oregon State history for career 3-point percentage and 8th in 3-pointers made. Katie is a graduate of South Salem High School leading her alumni to three league titles and a state title, and received multiple player of the year honors. Katie hopes to empower young girls in the greater valley looking to grow their game on and off the court.
Performance Coach
JESUS LEPE
Jesus has a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Human Biology from WOU. Started his career at Resilient Human Performance as a trainer where he worked with Youth Stars. He's been working with athletes for over 2 years. He helped run a strength and condition program at an Academy in Virginia for a year where he worked with collegiate basketball players. Jesus is a certified ACSM trainer and will soon be a NSCA certified.

JAMES HILL
Coach James Hill played at the pro ABA level for the Sabres, coached by Willie Freeman who now coaches for the Lander University Men's team. Hill has also played at the collegiate level within the State University of New York system. Attended the highly touted Point Guard College as a camper and garnered recognition for work ethic, precision, efficiency and attention to detail. He has nearly a decade of experience in supervising, teaching, and training youth through the Boys & Girls Club and 24 Spirit Athletics Basketball Academy. He has assisted in many skills clinics nationwide as an instructor and has also produced, designed, and run programs designed for youth that encompass subjects including but not limited to: education, nutrition, and specific sports training. Hill's focus is aimed toward making player development and team improvement constructively enjoyable, and his coaching philosophy centers around: hard work, equality, respect, commitment, knowledge, and strength! He strives to help those in need, and give back to the community he grew up in by being a great role model for youth while teaching them how to be effective athletes as well as good people.

THOMAS RICO
Thomas is a former collegiate player at George Fox University. After graduating, Thomas has stayed involved with camps and youth trainings offered through the men's basketball program at GFU. Thomas is in the 1K Pt Club and 18th all-time scorer at GFU. He has been coaching and training with Youth Stars/Future program for the last three seasons.

LUIS SALAZAR
Luis is a 4 year varsity starter from Woodburn high school who opted out from playing college ball in order to fulfill his passion in player development. Luis brings passion & knowledge to each session & is eager to become one of the top trainers. Luis wants to give back to players like himself that have a passion and drive to become the best they can be. He has trained for Youth Stars/Future program the last year and a half. His goal is to help each player achieve their goals and dreams with the help of basketball.

Steve Adams
Coach Steve has over 15 years experience coaching and being a part of Youth Sports. Coach Steve started his career as personal trainer with 24-hour fitness before moving into a management role. Steve worked with athletes of all ages developing individualized performance & nutrition programs. Coach Steve and his team are committed to placing focus on athletes as individuals, preparing them for success at the high school level through teaching and focusing on fundamentals, not winning and losing. His mission is to teach beyond the game. He wants to develop important values that all leaders should have, on and off the basketball court: character, teamwork, discipline, respect, and sportsmanship. “Although basketball is defined only as a sport, it also provides youth with a positive environment to develop life-skills. Athletics, if taught the proper way, will give each kid an opportunity for success in all aspects of life."

Hemingway
Coach Hemingway has over 10 years of experience coaching a variety of sports for all levels. He's a Certified USA Basketball Coach. Hemingway started with the Portland Trailblazers and grasped quickly to the Community Outreach program that helped professional athletes engage with local youths. Along with a passion for building youth programs, Hemingway is also a recognized leader in the technology industry. He was named Top 40 under 40 by the Portland Business Journal, authoring over 10 US patents, and building successful leadership programs linked to Oregon colleges and universities. Hemingway's goal is to get our community together to help our youth feel valued, empowered, and supported to reach their potential.
